Dr. Joshua Leavitt, DPM is originally from Southern Alberta. He attended the University of Alberta where he finished his Bachelor's degree as well as his pre-med requirements. He then went to the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated with his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. He then qualified for membership in the Pi Delta National Podiatry Honor Society due to outstanding scholastic achievement. He finished a three year surgical residency at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia where he completed hundreds of surgical procedures of the foot and ankle. During his three years of training he additionally completed rotations in Internal and Emergency Medicine, Trauma, Infectious Disease, Vascular Surgery, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Rheumatology and Orthopedics.
As a Podiatric doctor he prefers exhausting conservative treatments prior to considering surgical intervention. Dr. Leavitt is an avid reader of various Medical and Podiatric journals which allows him to stay up to date with the most recent treatment options.
He is happy to have his family back in the Edmonton area. In his spare time he likes most sporting activities and spending time with his wife and three young children.
